Experiment no 2
I’m not sure whether knitting two socks on two circular needles at the same time really is quicker than knitting each sock separately on a set of double-pointed needles – I spent a lot of time unravelling knots and sorting out which ball of yarn belongs to which sock… . The whole experiment was a bit unsatisfactory.
Having said that – knitting with circular needles instead of a set of needles seemed to be quicker, though, as there is less time spend moving from needle to needle. I have thus started experiment no 2 – knitting 1 sock on two circular needles. So far, it is going very well, and I think I am definitely quicker with the socks. I still need a week to finish a pair, though, and feel a bit envious of those who manage to knit 12 pairs of socks in a month (but maybe they spend some more time with knitting then I do). Two more pairs to go, then this “order” – a set of seven pairs, knitted from Fortissima Socka Mexiko Landhaus Color – I just love those colors – is done … Pictures to follow once all pairs are completed.
Currently, I am reading this book - I am looking forward to knitting a few more socks… which are funkier and fit better.
P.S.: I just found this - and promptly put it on my wishlist
Schon wieder Dienstag…. Heute fragt das-wollschaf:
