Wollschaf’s question today is for the sock knitters.

I’m growing more and more unhappy with my current sock yarn, and am looking for a replacement. What is your preferred sock yarn, and why?

Thanks to Agnes for today’s questions!

I usually knit socks with Regia (4-ply and 6-ply) bySMC Schachenmayr, and Fortissima Socka by Schoeller + Stahl (also both 4- and 6- ply). I also own a few skeins of ProLana sock yarn in my stash, and Opal yarn. Not to forget a few skeins of hand-dyed yarn, but they will be knit into scarves and shawls.

Both Regia and Fortissima are of high quality, and have a wide range of colours (both single-colour and multi-coloured). Regia is also available as Merino sock yarn (that was great to knit), Merino + Angora, and Merino + Silk.

Interestingly enough, I have been unable so far to find (french) sock yarn in France.
