With a bit of delay (sorry, travelling once again, this time to Japan), the recap for September. Autumn is well and truly here, and I am enjoying the season (in particular, as the skies are blue and the sun is shining). And I am slowly getting used to the fact that there are only two cats in the house.

I finished another test knit this month, a shawlette for Chrissy (Stitched-Together on ravelry). The pattern is not published yet, so I’ll tell you more about this in a separate entry once the pattern is published. I also finished a cardigan (Whippet), which is actually more of a light weight summer cardigan, and not really what one needs for the first frosty mornings of autumn. I have used Les Toisons Bretonnes Origine 2-fils to knit the cardigan. The yarn is fairly rustic and scratchy to knit with, but softens and blooms really beautifully after washing.

So this month, I used 321,2 grams / 1 304 metres of yarn, 6 skeins left the stash, 10 were added. But these were bought with Christmas presents in mind😉

  5. Stripey blanket, using up some rather old yarn that I inherited

NAPs (needle adjacent projects, ready to be cast on as soon as something else is cast off – thanks to the Stockinette Zombies for this definition)

  1. Knee-high socks for my daughter
  2. Wee bluebells by Kate Davies

On the radar (high up in my queue)

  1. Simone by Louisa Harding (but knit in the round)

I was in Kyoto – but unfortunately, as it was a business trip, I did not have very much time to explore the city and surrounds.

I have been told that Kyoto is a beautiful old town but I didn’t get chance to visit when I was in Japan 😥.
